2-Way Radio Installer/Field Technician

Breakthrough Communications is looking for a self-starting individual for a technician/installer position for our commercial/industrial customer base (little to no public safety vehicles). Position would be a mix between office/shop work and field work and would include some installation of radio equipment into vehicles and heavy equipment, troubleshooting of existing installations, and light repair work. We are looking for someone who already has experience and is ready to hit the ground running.

We primarily install traditional-type two-way radios (power, antenna, mounting) and Push-to-talk Over Cellular radios (power, antenna, and hidden antenna). We have a diverse customer base with vehicle types ranging from passenger pickups/cars, heavy-duty pickups, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, to heavy equipment on customer sites such as bulldozers, loaders, large haul (dump) trucks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Professional installation and troubleshooting of the latest fleet safety and communication devices to include telematics, video-telematics, CCTV systems, cradles and mounts, and other 12v equipment.
  • Frequently traveling nationwide, working nights and weekends for service and installation projects.
  • Fielding technical questions internally and externally, often serving as 1st line technical support.
  • Submitting all required documentation as required in a timely manner.
  • Ongoing professional development including certifications required by various service providers.
  • Assisting with in-house projects such as equipment provisioning, custom solutions, and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience working as a mobile installation technician.
  • Ability to travel without notice, frequently requiring overnight stays.
  • MECP certified preferred but not required.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of 12-volt equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license, clear criminal record, and pass drug screening.

Our installers are full time, non-exempt and primarily requires a Monday thru Friday 8 to 5 p.m. work schedule.

12 Volt (GPS) Installation Technician

Veterans Fleet Management LLC is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable, and self-motivated 12-volt technician to complete installations of GPS Fleet Tracking devices and Camera Systems. Our company works with telematics manufacturers to provide customers with the best installation services for their business needs. We are based out of Florida and are expanding quickly throughout the United States.

We are seeking a contract GPS Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain GPS tracking equipment and other telematic accessories. In this role, you are expected to travel and stay on-site for the duration of projects. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of site installation requirements are completed.

The following is a list of onsite responsibilities:

  • Manage all on-site installation, repair and service tasks for GPS tracking devices, camera systems and other telematic accessories.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
  • Serve existing and new accounts by analyzing work orders, conducting tests, resolving problems.
  • Submit timely and detailed installation sheets.
  • Document service and installation actions by completing mobile forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Follow all manufacturer partners’ procedures and protocols.
  • Build positive customer relationships with open, direct communication.


Requirements:

Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Direct experience with installing, troubleshooting, and repairing GPS Tracking, Camera Systems, car audio, and/or Remote Car Starters.
Proficient in the use of web-based applications.
Reliable transportation for extensive Driving.
2 years of Experience with automotive electronics and understanding of technical diagrams and manuals.
Must have own tools (drill, impact, combination wrench, meters, etc…..)
Must have the ability to correctly disassemble and reassemble vehicle panels to perform installation.
MECP Certified (preferred – not required)
Must have iOS or Android-based Smart Device.
