How long have you been in the industry?
I started back in '01.
How many years have you been MECP certified? How long have you been Master certified?
I got my Basic certification back in '02 or '03 I believe. I've been Master certified for just over a year now.
What is the year, make and model of the most difficult car you've ever worked on?
There are a lot of cars that can give you some trouble, especially if you've never worked on one before. At the time, it had to be an '03 Cadillac CTS. It was a brand new car with about 20 miles on it. I hadn't really gotten into remote starters yet and had no clue what I was doing. Looking back on it now, it's a breeze, but I was cussing that car out for days.
Give us a rundown of the system installed in your vehicle right now.
I feel ashamed to admit this, but all I have is a Harmon Kardon Drive and Play on my Mitsubishi Endeavor. I do have an amp wired up in there waiting for some speakers though. An installer's car is always halfway done.
Name the top five artists in your MP3 player at the moment.
In no particular order: Avenged Sevenfold, Hurt, Seether, Shinedown, Van Morrison
What is your favorite tool to use in the installation bay and why?
Gotta be the air saw, aka "air beaver". It's great cutting into a dash actually intending to do so.
What’s the best advice you have ever gotten in your installation career?
There are two quotes I can remember from guys I used to work with: |
