MECP Welcomes Manufacturer's Reps and Distributors
as Proctors for MECP Testing

MECP is pleased to announce that manufacturer’s field sales reps and regional distributors are once again able to proctor MECP exams. Although MECP has a strong network of industry schools and Prometric testing centers delivering the computer-based exam, many manufacturers’ reps would like to administer MECP testing to their dealer base. This service allows them to become a trusted partner in helping develop the retailer’s business and professional staff.

If you are a manufacturer’s rep or regional distributor, consider these important points:

  • MECP is a tiered industry certification that allows your retailer clients to hire and retain the best employees.
  • Your retailer clients have a clear path to grow the quality of their business.
  • MECP Advanced and Master certification is an opportunity for your retailer clients to establish themselves as a “specialist” retailer in their market.
  • Advanced and Master certified installation technicians typically appeal to a higher caliber clientele which translates into bigger ticket sales on a broader range of products and fewer product returns from installation errors.
  • MECP is a turn-key opportunity for advancement of any retailer’s current position in their market because consumers WILL choose certified professionals.
  • If you and your company won’t get out there to assist retailers in improving themselves, who will?

Perhaps the greatest benefit of proctoring modern MECP computer-based exams is that the proctor is not required to handle any testing fees and the results for the testing participants are instant. All that is needed to roll out MECP testing at your location (or at the retailer’s location) is an available computer with high bandwidth Internet access and a secure Web browser. Access to the testing system is not unlike many of the manufacturer’s “dealer only” websites. However, for a participant to enter the test, a proctor authentication is required. Your supervision as the proctor completes the puzzle. Many participants have expressed interest in tying their regional product training with MECP testing because it so convenient.

Everyone agrees MECP is an excellent opportunity for retailers to address their staffing concerns by implementing nationally recognized, standardized testing. Contact Todd Ramsey at (480) 706-9828 for information on MECP proctoring or visit www.MECP.com for more details.
