How long have you been in the industry?
I have been in Retail Electronics since 1988. I have been a professional mobile installer since 1993.

How many years have you been MECP certified? How long have you been Master certified?
16 years! My 1st year installing I was Installer(Basic) Level, 2nd through-year 14 1/2, I was 1st Class(Advanced) Level. I have been Master Certified for almost 1 1/2 years.

What is the year, make and model of the most difficult car you've ever worked on?
A 2006 Infiniti M45 for a remote start, alarm, and keyless entry. It wasn't so much a difficult install, as opposed to being a major pain in the butt to work on!!

Give us a rundown of the system installed in your vehicle right now.
I have an 1992 Acura Legend Coupe. I have a Pioneer double DIN in-dash video unit, Infinity Perfect 6.5" Midbass, Infinity EMIT tweeters (try and find some of those!!), Infinity Perfect 10" subwoofers, (2) Xtant 4180x 4 channel amps, (1) Xtant 1001dx mono amp, Precision Power 4/5/6 channel electronic crossover.

Name the top five artists in your MP3 player at the moment.
Steely Dan, Kurt Carr, Ledisi, Jill Scott, Dietrick Haddon

What is your favorite tool to use in the installation bay and why?
My FLUKE 115. A digital multimeter is indispensible in this age of automobiles!

What is the best advice you have ever gotten in your installation career?
No matter what that printout says, check the wire before you interface...(at least until you have them memorized!)

Who inspires you to further your skills and your career in mobile electronics installation?
I have always had a thing for electronics. I used to tear everything apart as a kid to see how they worked, and later to try and repair them. I LOVE music though, and aside from my home audio/theater habit and having my own 24-track recording studio, mobile electronics is the best way to keep on top of new technology. Installing is the way for me to play with new technology, especially when it might allow me to play with expensive toys that I can't afford! So I guess I am really self driven when it comes to staying in the Mobile Electronics Installation field. Having been able to have reached the goal of Master Installer didn't hurt either! I wish I had tested earlier, instead of waiting until my employer finally offered a new job code (and subsequent pay increase) for Master Installers!
